Meet Sam - The Ugliest Dog In The World (picture) He is a 14-year-old pedigreed canine from Santa Barbara, California and has recently won the title of the world’s ugliest dog at the Sonoma-Marin Fair. The Associated Press described him thusly:

“The tiny dog has no hair, if you don’t count the yellowish-white tuft erupting from his head. His wrinkled brown skin is covered with splotches, a line of warts marches down his snout, his blind eyes are an alien, milky white, and a fleshy flap of skin hangs from his withered neck. And then there are the Austin Powers teeth that jut at odd angles.”

His owner, Susie Lockheed, said that he is so ugly that even the judges recoiled when he was placed on the judging table. Ms. Lockheed, was allergic to hairy dogs so Sam - a Chinese Crested - is perfect. His owner says she has never been so devoted to an animal. “I’ve never had a dog this much in love with me“, she told The Daily Mail.

Lockheed had to be persuaded to take in the world’s ugliest dog. He had already been rejected by an adoption agency, which deemed him too ugly for any home they knew, and his former owner was desperate to find a home for him.
