Dear Rebecca,
I grew up in a family that had great pride in spending our summers on Lake James in Indiana. Our grandfather, Wayne Otto, was always a histort buff and shared an adoration for Chief Pokagon. Wayne has recently passed away and I am looking for ways to add his love for the Native American culture to his memorial. I have read Simon Pokagon's interpretation of the book of Genesis & would like to incoroporate this into the eulogy for Wayne. If you are able I would really appreciate the opportunity to speak with you about facts & "legends" that I may incorporate to his memory. My phone is 317-408-4637 & I would be happy to call you back because I am sure that this is long-distance. I would appreciate any help that you may be able to give - espcially with proper pronunciation while reading the creation story. I would ecstatically invite any information that you may be able to help me add! Sincerely, Kathy

Simon Pokagon was my great great(great) grand father. I found out when i was old enugh to understand. To this day i wish i could have met him. i wish i could go back in time & tell him who i am. What i do know of him i wish he was alive today. I have pictures of him & also of his father. Ever sence i moved to Dowagiac,MI i have been doing a lot of things the traditional way & learning more. I love to read about him & his father. It lets me know more about them & where i come from. I just wish it could be easyer to find things about them. A lot of it is just repeating & nothing new.
