A Picture from Edna

This is my very first panorama photograph ever! I was not sure which size focal length to use, as my images were recorded as 5mm focal length. 5mm was not one of the choices for the Canon software, so I used the shortest available - 24mm. Then I went to Picnik and made a poster from it.

My neighbor Jeff was my inspiration. He posted one of his creations of the Lincoln Memorial at Facebook. Of course, Jeff is a professional photographer for the AP, so it was quite a photo. I hope this photograph will be inspiration for my Red Hats ladies, as I shot it from the very same hotel that they are planning on staying in next Spring when we all descend with our Red Hats on Salt Lake City to do some genealogy. :)

The image, Salt Lake City Skyline Poster, was originally uploaded by barneykin. It is posted here from Barneykin’s flickr account.

Don’t forget to use the FREE GOOG-411 when you need information on businesses. I was at Purcellville, Virginia yesterday when my travelling companions wanted to drive over to a crab shack in Hamilton for some fresh seafood. We wanted to phone first to see what they had. Were they impressed that I had GOOG-411 in the contacts on my cell phone. GOOG-411 found the crab shack and connected me directly. How great!

PRECAUTIONS FOR WOMEN
(received from the Internet without attribution)

Just in case, especially now, during the frenzy of the season. We can now add to the list of victims the retired 77-year-old TCU professor from Fort Worth whose body was found last week in Oklahoma — and the 11-year-old in Sarasota. Because of these recent abductions in daylight hours, refresh yourself of these things to do in an emergency situation.

Saint Patrick
Saint Patrick’s Island Could Be Yours For the Taking and only a mere £895,000. Hurry, hurry, hurry, as this one won’t last! Yes, the tiny island where Saint Patrick was shipwrecked is on the market. The island made history 1,500 years ago when the Irish patron saint was stranded on Ynys Badrig, off the north-east coast of Anglesey, off north Wales. He then swam a treacherous one mile to Anglesey and lived in a cave before building the famous church of Saint Llanbadrig.

Since the Saint’s days the island - also known as Middle Mouse - has been much improved, adding additional land to its holding to now be a 160-acre estate. So not only do you get the island, but the rugged terrain now has a six-bedroom country house, the ruins of a clay works, and a private beach. Real estate agent Elfyn Hughes, of Beresford Adams, said: “It is real one-off“, in case anyone knows what that means.

Captiva Island Fish
There is no fishing like fishing in the sea at Captiva Island, Florida in August.
